About the Engine

The Hometown Success Engine maps public Team USA roster facts into 40 hometown hubs. It covers 5,119 mapped Olympians and Paralympians from Tokyo 2020 through Milan-Cortina 2026, then surfaces the hubs where Paralympic representation reaches 7.5% or higher.

Each hub combines public roster data with climate and geographic context. Gemini can answer rankings, comparisons, sport questions, and hub profiles while also filtering, selecting, and zooming the map.

Built for the Google Cloud x Team USA Challenge. The product is designed for scouts, analysts, and youth-program leaders who need to identify regional patterns without implying that geography guarantees outcomes.
